Nisporeni power station failure briefly left several localities in four districts without electricity

Several areas in the districts of Nisporeni, Fălești, Hâncești, and Ungheni lost electricity due to technical failures at the Nisporeni power station, according to the Ministry of Energy.
According to the institution, "technical failures at the Nisporeni power station resulted in electricity disconnections in the Nisporeni, Falesti, Hancesti, and Ungheni districts." The intervention teams from the electricity transport operator are currently working to resolve the situation.
Authorities state that specialists are continuously working to restore power to the affected areas. The press release notes, "The Moldelectrica team is addressing the failures."
To minimize the impact of the outages and reduce the number of affected consumers, a temporary technical solution has been implemented. The Ministry of Energy informs that "the 110 kV line was connected in islanded mode" to limit the affected area.
The cause of the power outages in the Nisporeni, Falesti, Hancesti, and Ungheni districts was identified as a broken conductor on the circuit supplying the Nisporeni power station, which was due to adverse weather conditions, particularly strong winds. Technical teams are actively working to fix the issue.
As of 14:26, all affected consumers were reconnected to electricity through alternative circuits, including the 110 kV line from Țuțora (Romania) to Cioara (Moldova), as specified by the Ministry of Energy.
