Romania’s Eurovision representative visits Chișinău, discusses collaborations with artists from the Republic of Moldova
Alexandra Căpitănescu, who will represent Romania at Eurovision, visited Chișinău to connect with the public and promote her artistic work. During a press conference, she expressed her desire to better understand the energy of the fans, emphasizing that music creates a direct bond between the two banks of the river. The young artist also discussed her intense preparations for the upcoming performance, the message behind her song, and potential collaborations with artists from the Republic of Moldova.

Alexandra Căpitănescu won this year's Romanian National Selection with her song "Choke Me."
"The song explores the inner struggles that everyone faces and the power to overcome the limits we set for ourselves, as well as the pressure we place on ourselves. Thank you for supporting our music and for embracing Romanian music from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. We have extraordinary artists," said Alexandra Căpitănescu.
The artist hinted at a possible collaboration with Satoshi, the performer representing the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision.
"I was born in Galați, but we still identify as Moldovans. When my father hears songs from Zdob și Zdub, and he listened to Satoshi's song 'Viva Moldova,' he felt a deep connection, saying, 'Yes, Moldova, exactly—Viva Moldova.' We exchanged songs and demos, and last year while I was working on music in the studio, I was thinking about Satoshi. We have some plans in the works, and we’ll see where we can find common ground to create a song that represents both of us," said the Romanian representative for Eurovision.
Now that her childhood dream of participating in Eurovision has become a reality, Alexandra Căpitănescu is focused on qualifying for the Eurovision final.
"We want to put on an excellent show. I have high expectations for myself to manage my emotions and voice, to fully experience those three minutes, and to aim for qualification in the final," added Alexandra Căpitănescu.
Romania will compete in the international contest on May 14 in the second semi-final. The Republic of Moldova will perform in the first semi-final on May 12, represented by Satoshi with the song "Viva Moldova." The final of the competition will take place on May 16. All performances will start at 22:00 Moldovan time and will be broadcast live on Moldova 1.
