Igor Grosu and Vladimir Voronin, 14 years after the April 7 protests: The truth about that day and the crimes committed remain an enigma
The Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, came with a message today, when 14 years have passed since the events of April 7, 2009. "Thousands of people, most of them young, changed the course of our history. They asked for freedom and democracy," Grosu wrote on his Facebook page. Also, the president of the Communist Party, Vladimir Voronin, spoke about the events of 14 years ago. According to him, today nobody wants to find out who was behind the events of April 7, 2009. He also mentioned that, since then, Moldova started on the path of "total degradation".
The Parliament Speaker also mentioned that, unfortunately, the truth about April 7, 2009 and the crimes committed then has not been found out, this being an additional proof that the justice reform must be carried out to the end. In this context, Grosu declared that "we will do our best to, in the end, be part of the free world, in a European Moldova".
The Parliament Speaker also announced that, this week, the Parliament is hosting the "Borders" exhibition, dedicated to the events of April 7, 2009. Visitors to the parliamentary institution will have the opportunity to see various objects and documents recovered from the building after the events of that time, as well as a series of works made by the multimedia artist Valeria Barbas. Later, the exhibition will be hosted by the National History Museum of Moldova.
"14 years ago, on April 7, 2009, thousands of people, most of them young, changed the course of our history. They demanded freedom and democracy. In recent years, we see how important it is to live freely and in democracy. And for this we will do everything possible to, in the end, be part of the free world, in a European Moldova. Unfortunately, the truth about April 7, 2009 and the crimes committed then has never been known. One more proof that the justice reform must be carried out to the end", reads the message sent by the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu.
And the president of the Communist Party, Vladimir Voronin, came with a message today, on the occasion of 14 years since the events of April 7, 2009. According to him, since then the Republic of Moldova has started on the path of degradation, ignoring the legal principles of the state's functioning, of the encroachment of democratic freedoms and the gradual elimination of one's own sovereignty. He also mentions that today nobody wants to know who was behind the events of April 7, 2009. Voronin also says that foreign structures were also behind the "so-called revolution".
"We can firmly say that, exactly 14 years ago, Moldova started on the path of total degradation, ignoring the legal principles of the functioning of the state, the restriction of democratic freedoms and the gradual elimination of its own sovereignty. (...) Today, nobody wants to find out who was behind the events of April 7", said Vladimir Voronin, president of PCRM.
We remind you that today, April 7, 2023, 14 years have passed since the protests that followed the parliamentary elections of April 5, 2009.
