Moldova launches Patient's Voice medical feedback platform

Following any medical visit, procedure, or hospitalization, patients in Moldova can now provide feedback on the quality of healthcare services. They can offer praise or suggest improvements using the new Patient's Voice platform. Authorities launched this initiative on April 28 to improve the dialogue between medical institutions and citizens.

Livia Golovatîi, project coordinator at the NGO CASMED, introduced the platform during its official launch event. She stated it serves as a critical tool to bring medical facilities and citizens closer together. The initiative stems from the national reality that many patients either do not know how to express their opinions or choose not to do so.

The platform encourages patients to speak openly and share both positive and negative experiences regarding their medical journey. It includes three types of questionnaires tailored to different healthcare services. Users can safely and anonymously access the platform from anywhere in the world.

How the feedback system works

Patients can access the system online or by scanning QR codes available in participating medical institutions. After scanning the code, users select the facility and their preferred language to provide an overall rating. The survey then asks detailed questions about service quality, staff communication, treatment conditions, and any additional costs incurred.

Medical institutions will use the collected data to access real-time statistics regarding patient satisfaction. Golovatîi emphasized that the platform is not just a feedback tool, but also an internal management instrument. It will directly help hospitals identify specific areas requiring immediate improvement.

For citizens, the digital tool represents an opportunity to transition from simple healthcare consumers to active dialogue partners. By the end of the year, 109 medical institutions across the country will test the platform. The Ministry of Health will eventually take over its full administration.

The Ministry of Health implemented this initiative with support from the Swiss Government, the Red Cross, and CASMED. It forms a key part of the broader effort to digitize the national healthcare system between 2025 and 2030.
