Moldova opens 146 paid gov internships

Young professionals can now apply for a new round of paid public service internships, jointly sponsored by the European Union and the Moldovan government. Launched on April 28 at the "Ion Creanga" State Pedagogical University in Chisinau, the program offers 146 placements across 48 public institutions.

Application process and financial support

Candidates aged 18 to 29 can submit their applications via the government's career platform between May 1 and May 15. Selected interns will receive a tax-free monthly stipend of €179 (approx. 3,500 MDL), funded by the host authority. Applicants are allowed to select up to five preferred institutions during the process.

Career prospects and training

Placements are available within the Parliament, the Presidency, the State Chancellery, and various ministries. The 480-hour program spans three to six months and features targeted training on public administration, with a strong focus on EU integration processes.

Interns who complete the program with an "excellent" rating are eligible for direct, non-competitive appointments to entry-level civil service roles. Graduates are also added to the civil servant reserve corps for one year. This initiative follows the program's fifth edition, launched in October 2025, which provided 82 spots across 31 authorities.
