New employment reaches only 7.5% of the authorities’ 2030 target

In the first four months of the year, a total of 7,507 individuals found employment with the support of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM). This group included women and men of various ages, many of whom were over 55, as well as people with disabilities and individuals of Roma ethnicity.

Over 2,100 individuals, or 28% of the total employed population, are currently classified as unemployed.

The majority of employment was found within the collective, social, and personal services sector, accounting for 34.7% of the workforce. The top sectors of employment include agriculture at 16.5%, wholesale and retail trade at 15.6%, industry at 7.7%, public administration at 6.4%, construction at 4.3%, health and social assistance at 4.2%, education at 3.2%, and transport, storage, and communications at 2.7%.

Employee profile and fields of activity:

"Each job brings us closer to our goal of integrating at least 100,000 people into the labor market over the next four years," declared the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Natalia Plugaru. She reminded everyone of the campaign "We connect people with opportunities," launched on March 4. This initiative aims to support the employment of over 100,000 individuals by 2030, with a focus on young people, women, and vulnerable groups.

Job seekers are encouraged to reach out to the territorial employment subdivisions, where they can receive free counselling, career guidance, and employment support.

These services are designed for individuals looking for their first job as well as those considering a career change.

In 2025, more than 20,000 people were employed through the ANOFM, a 20% increase over 2024.

For the current year, authorities have set a goal of supporting the employment of 25,000 individuals.
