Barcelona move closer to La Liga title after Osasuna win
FC Barcelona has moved to the brink of clinching the Spanish league title following a hard-fought 2-1 away victory against Osasuna at El Sadar. The win, secured in the 34th round of La Liga, places the Catalan giants in a commanding position.
The match remained deadlocked until the final ten minutes of regulation time. Robert Lewandowski broke the stalemate in the 80th minute with a clinical finish. Just five minutes later, Ferran Torres doubled the lead, effectively securing the three points for the visitors.
Osasuna managed to pull one goal back in the 88th minute through Raul Garcia, but it proved to be a mere consolation. With this result, Barcelona has accumulated 88 points and stands on the verge of a mathematical title claim.
The focus now shifts to second-placed Real Madrid, who face Espanyol later tonight. Should the Madrid side fail to secure a victory, FC Barcelona will be officially crowned La Liga champions.
