Moldova to grant €155 payment for children with disabilities

Families caring for children with severe disabilities in Moldova will receive a one-off fixed allowance of €155 (approx. 3,000 MDL) this June.
The legislative initiative, announced by MP Ludmila Adamciuc and Minister of Labor Natalia Plugaru, is set to benefit 13,582 children nationwide.
**Automated disbursement mechanism
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has developed an automated payment system to ensure rapid access to funds. Parents are not required to visit state institutions or submit physical applications.
The payment will be granted automatically, eliminating bureaucratic hurdles for families regardless of their location or social status.
Long-term inclusion strategy
The measure precedes the launch of the 2026–2030 Disability Inclusion Plan. This strategic framework focuses on deinstitutionalization and reforming personal assistance services.
The reform remains a central priority for Moldova’s European Union accession agenda. Current state allowances for youth with disabilities have increased nearly threefold since 2020, rising from 857 MDL to 2,448 MDL (approx. €127) monthly.
Additionally, caregivers of children with severe disabilities currently receive monthly support payments exceeding 2,600 MDL (approx. €135).
