Parliament opens its doors on May 16, showcasing vintage cars from its collection

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will open its doors to the public on Saturday, May 16, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. During this time, visitors can participate in various activities designed to educate them about the history of parliamentarism and democratic processes. This event is part of the Night of Museums and precedes Parliament Day, which is officially celebrated each year on May 23.

In Parliament Square, visitors will have the opportunity to explore vintage cars owned by the institution, including those previously used by the Speakers. There will also be a designated area for photographs featuring national symbols.

On the ground floor of the building, key documents and heritage objects that have played significant roles in legislative history will be on display. In this space, citizens are encouraged to submit proposals to enhance institutional transparency and to participate in thematic competitions.

On the second floor, visitors can focus on the plenary hall, where they can deliver simulated speeches from the Parliament's central rostrum and watch film screenings related to parliamentary activities. This floor will also feature spaces dedicated to children and additional photography areas.

The third floor will highlight the European dimension of the institution through an exhibition showcasing the libraries of European Union member states and presenting future student projects.

Visitors will also have access to the Europa Hall, which is typically used for official meetings and sessions of the Standing Bureau.

Access to the Parliament will require a valid identity document, but no prior appointment is necessary. Minors can enter without documents as long as they are accompanied by an adult. To assist visitors in navigating the venue, organizers will provide a map of the open spaces and a recommended route for touring at the entrance.
