“EuroQuiz” contest: 41 teams tested their EU knowledge, highlighting teamwork and excitement
On May 8, forty-one teams from across the country participated in the "EuroQuiz" competition, with the chance to win a trip to Brussels. The participants tested their knowledge of the European Union, covering topics such as history, geography, European institutions, culture, art, literature, gastronomy, and the languages spoken in Europe. The competition also included questions related to the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

The team from the Ialoveni district was represented by students from the "Andrei Vartic" Theoretical Lyceum in Ialoveni. They prepared intensively for the competition, hoping to reach Brussels.
"We met almost every day and asked each other questions. We have many books that we studied, including a handbook on the negotiations for accession to the European Union and several others."
"We really want to win, of course, but the most important thing is to participate, and the fact that we are already here is significant. We want to make the most of this experience and live it to the fullest. It is very interesting for us; there are special emotions involved, and at the same time, we are developing our critical thinking and team spirit. If we reach Brussels, that would be fantastic."
The students from Măgdăcești mentioned that they organized their preparation by themes to be more effective for the competition.
"Honestly, we prepared very intensely compared to last year. This is already a tradition, as we are participating in the second edition. Each of us had specific tasks to focus on, read, and summarize. Like any team, we have expectations, and of course, those at home are waiting for us to bring home the big prize."
"Almost since last year, we have been learning and continuously improving. We divided our roles, and each of us focused on our specific field. - What field did you choose? - I focused on youth opportunities and European clusters. I really want to get to Brussels, especially since I haven't had many opportunities to travel. I believe our team has a good chance of making it."
Authorities emphasize the importance of young people understanding the process of the Republic of Moldova moving closer to the European Union.
"We are trying to create more curiosity, interest, and understanding about what the European Union is, what it brings to young people, and to our society," said Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
"I promise you that one day—some sooner, some maybe a little later—we will all have the chance to get to Brussels and see what is happening there and why the European Union is so important," said President Maia Sandu.
"I have to say that I enjoy quizzes; I like participating in them, and I acknowledge that I do not know the answers to all the questions," noted Kaja Kallas, head of European diplomacy.
The number of participants in the EuroQuiz has doubled compared to last year. In the previous edition, about 2,500 people participated; this year, approximately 5,000 young people registered for the competition.
