Baby boy weighing over 5 kilograms born at Chișinău municipal hospital
A rare and emotional event occurred at the "Gheorghe Paladi" Municipal Clinical Hospital in Chisinau. A 29-year-old woman from Chișinău gave birth to an impressive baby weighing 5,070 grams and measuring 58 centimeters in length. The baby is classified as macrosomic.
A baby boy was born on May 12 via cesarean section at 40 weeks gestation. The procedure was complex, especially since it was the mother’s first delivery, according to the medical institution.
The parents have named their little one Aron. Both the mother and the newborn are doing well and are not in any danger.
“We express our appreciation and gratitude to the medical team involved for their professionalism, responsibility, and dedication in managing this special case,” stated the “Gheorghe Paladi” Municipal Clinical Hospital.
According to doctors, cases of fetal macrosomia are considered rare and require careful supervision and a complex medical approach to prevent possible complications for both the mother and the newborn.
Additionally, a 34-year-old mother recently gave birth to a baby girl, who also weighed an impressive 4,800 grams.
