PSG retains Champions League title against Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain retained their UEFA Champions League title after defeating Arsenal on penalties at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.

The match ended 1-1 following regulation and extra time. Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the Gunners in the sixth minute, before Ousmane Dembele equalized for the Parisian side from the penalty spot in the 65th minute.

With no further goals scored during regular play or the ensuing extra time, the match proceeded to a penalty shootout. Paris Saint-Germain ultimately secured the victory by converting four penalties to Arsenal's three.

Historical milestones

This victory marks the fifth European trophy in the history of the French club. Their continental honors now include the 1996 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, the 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup, the 2025 Champions League title, and the 2025 UEFA Super Cup.

Paris Saint-Germain will have the opportunity to claim another continental title this summer. They are scheduled to face Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup on August 12, with the match taking place in Salzburg, Austria.
