Nearly 9,000 Nisporeni residents will benefit from new water network

Nearly nine thousand residents of the Nisporeni district will soon have access to safe drinking water. The Regional Development Agency (ADR) Centru has signed a contract for the construction and modernization of four drinking water pumping stations. The total investment for this project will be 47.36 million lei, funded by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, along with contributions from local public authorities.

The project titled "Ensuring the sustainability of public drinking water supply services in nine localities of Nisporeni district by extending the Prut-Macaresti regional main aqueduct by 40 km" aims to provide quality drinking water to the residents of the villages of Ciorești, Vulcănești, Milești, Bălănești, Găuzeni, Vânătorii, Ciutești, Seliște, Valea Nirnovei, and Paruceni.

This initiative plans to construct and rehabilitate approximately 35 km of water supply networks, as well as to build and modernize four drinking water pumping stations. In addition, three water towers will be constructed or rehabilitated, and another 12 drinking water reservoirs will be built or upgraded to ensure a more efficient and secure supply system.

As a result of this investment, around 9,000 residents from approximately 2,360 households are expected to benefit. The project will also improve conditions for 20 public institutions and 33 local businesses by ensuring access to modern, sustainable drinking water services.

“For our localities, this project represents an investment in people’s health and future. It is an important step toward the development of communities and creating better living conditions for today’s and future generations,” said Valeriu Guțu, the mayor of Ciorești commune.

“This project signifies, above all, care for people and their quality of life. Access to safe drinking water is essential, and through this investment, we are helping to create better conditions for families, institutions, and the local economy. We want every resident of these villages to feel the tangible benefits of regional development,” said Ion Pînzari, director of ADR Centru.

The construction works are expected to be completed within 24 months. Ultimately, the regional water supply system will enhance the quality of public services and promote the sustainable socio-economic development of the entire area.
