Dorin Recean urges ministers and citizens to participate in the "European Moldova" Assembly: "We are a people who know what we want"
Prime Minister Dorin Recean urged ministers and citizens to participate in the "European Moldova" Assembly, an initiative launched by President Maia Sandu. At the beginning of today's Cabinet meeting, Dorin Recean said that this is necessary to demonstrate that our country wants peace.
"We are a people who know what we want, who know how to work, a people who have chosen the European path - the path of European integration. To build Europe at home. I want us to mobilise everyone for this goal", said the Prime Minister.
At the same time, Dorin Recean came with a message to a group of people "who want to create the impression that Moldovans support the war in Ukraine", but he did not give any names.
"We have a handful of criminals here. They are few, but they have criminal minds and they are trying to create the impression at home and abroad that Moldova is in chaos and has the wrong orientation. They want to create the impression that Moldovans support the war in Ukraine. They want to create the impression that we are not European. We, however, are different. We have proved it. Thanks to Ukraine, we have no missiles here, we have no war. But we do have hybrid attacks, in which these citizens participate. We'll make ourselves clear. We are going to do justice reform and whatever is necessary to clear ourselves of these criminals. We are a peaceful people, we know what we want and we know how to act, including against them ".
Maia Sandu launched the initiative to hold a Grand National Assembly in Chisinau on 21 May in support of Moldova's European integration. In her address to the citizens she said that the Republic of Moldova is currently at a great crossroads, and "a handful of thieves" are trying to steal the future of our children. Maia Sandu said that at crucial moments decisions are not only taken by politicians, but by people in the Great Assembly Square.
While several political parties announced that they would attend the event to support our country's European path, others said they would come to express their dissatisfaction with the actions of the current government.
