IT and communications offer Moldova’s highest-paying jobs

In the first three months of 2026, employees in Moldova earned monthly salaries ranging from 10,200 to 39,300 lei.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the average gross monthly salary stood at 15,987 lei at the beginning of 2026, about 400 lei lower than at the end of 2025.
However, it was 1,400 lei higher than the average salary recorded at the beginning of 2025.
Highest-paying sectors:
Information and communications: 39,374 lei per month; Financial and insurance activities: 28,215 lei; Electricity, heat, gas, hot water, and air conditioning supply: 22,645 lei.

Lowest-paying sectors in 2026:
Agriculture, forestry, and fishing: 10,246 lei; Accommodation and food services: 11,331 lei; Arts, entertainment, and recreation: 12,148 lei.
The strongest wage growth compared with the first quarter of 2025 was recorded in:
Administrative and support service activities: +47.1% (average gross monthly salary of 19,138 lei); Professional, scientific, and technical activities: +18% (18,902 lei); Information and communications: +16.4% (39,374 lei).
In the public sector, the average monthly salary reached 13,288 lei in the first quarter of 2026, around 400 lei higher than in the same period of 2025.
In the real sector, the average salary rose to 16,909 lei, an increase of 1,700 lei compared with January to March 2025.
The average number of employees increased by 1.7% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier.
The largest increases in employment were recorded in:
Other services (including employers’ and trade union organizations, computer repair, personal services, and related activities): +20.3%; Administrative and support service activities: +11.7%; Construction: +10%.
Meanwhile, the sectors that recorded the largest workforce declines compared with the first quarter of 2025 were:
Mining and quarrying: −8.8%; Manufacturing: −2.2%; Transportation and storage: −1.9%.
