Seven dead after drone hits bus in Russian-occupied Donetsk

A drone strike targeted a passenger bus in the Russian-occupied city of Yenakiieve on Wednesday morning, June 3, leaving seven people dead and 11 others injured.
The strike hit a vehicle traveling the Moscow-Simferopol route, a key transit line between the Russian capital and occupied Crimea. Pro-Russian regional leader Denis Pushilin confirmed the casualties via Telegram, stating that the victims were civilians.
"In Yenakiieve, a drone hit a Moscow-Simferopol bus. According to preliminary information, seven people were killed. Another eleven people suffered injuries of varying severity and all are receiving the necessary care," Pushilin stated.
Local occupation authorities maintain that all victims were non-combatants. Kyiv has yet to issue an official comment regarding the incident in the Donetsk region.
The attack occurred as Russia prepares to open the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). In a simultaneous escalation, Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported that Russian air defenses intercepted nearly 60 drones over the Sankt-Petersburg region on Wednesday morning.
The drone activity in the north has caused significant logistics disruptions. According to local reports, several flights were canceled at regional airports as authorities attempted to repel the persistent aerial incursions.
