Moldovan researchers win eight medals at Euroinvent 2026

Moldovan scientists from the National Institute for Applied Research in Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine secured eight medals at the 18th Euroinvent European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation. The event took place in Iasi, Romania, from May 28 to 30, 2026.

This international achievement underscores the competitiveness and global relevance of Moldova's applied research in agriculture, veterinary medicine, and food science. An international jury evaluated the scientific projects, awarding Moldovan innovations two gold, five silver, and one bronze medal.

Among the laureates, researchers Larisa Iusan and Mariana Caraman were recognized for their outstanding scientific papers and patented inventions.

The institute's award-winning innovations feature advanced livestock management techniques for poultry and rabbit breeding. The team also presented eco-friendly agricultural solutions and organic methods designed to improve animal health while boosting crop productivity.

In the viticulture sector, the international panel honored novel methods for certifying the authenticity of wines produced from indigenous grape varieties. Additionally, specialized technologies for premium sparkling wine production received top marks.

Food science innovations included newly developed functional food alternatives derived from local fruits and beetroots. These products focus on enhancing digestion using sustainable, regional raw materials.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, this success validates Moldova's scientific capacity to transform academic ideas into practical marketplace solutions. Euroinvent 2026 allowed Moldovan experts to exchange strategic insights with international academic peers and promote national research capabilities.

Concurrently, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) managed an informational hub at the exhibition, offering consultancy on intellectual property rights protection. The agency also introduced the international scientific community to the upcoming 20th Infoinvent International Specialized Exhibition, scheduled for November 2027.
