Toledo festival shooting leaves 12 injured, two critical
A shooting near the Old West End festival in Toledo, Ohio, left 12 people injured on Saturday, June 6, with two victims in critical condition. Authorities are actively searching for at least two suspects who opened fire near the event.
Deputy Police Chief Joseph Heffernan confirmed that the suspects remain at large and likely fired at one another during the confrontation. Police official Dan Gerken noted that the average age of the victims is just over 20 years old.

Law enforcement officers are currently conducting sweeping searches in the area, interviewing eyewitnesses, and analyzing mobile phone footage. According to CNN, the police have urged the public to avoid several nearby neighborhoods while the investigation continues.
A heavy police presence remains deployed at the scene of the incident to secure the perimeter and gather evidence.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine addressed the incident on the social media platform X, expressing his deep concern over the public safety breach.
"Summer festivals must be safe places, where families can spend time together without fear of violence," Governor DeWine stated. "We are confident that law enforcement will find the suspects involved in this senseless crime."
