Ukraine to demand $20B at Ramstein to secure battlefield advantage

Ukraine will request an additional $20 billion from Western allies to bolster its defense capabilities. A high-ranking official confirmed the request will be formally presented on June 18 at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Ramstein.
The requested funds are earmarked for air defense expansion, drone procurement, electronic warfare systems, and long-range weaponry. Ukraine currently aims to reach a total of $60 billion in support, as defined by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Ukraine has already received $38 billion in military aid for 2026. The official emphasized that the current support from partners, including Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands, has already shifted the war's dynamics.
Ukrainian leadership warns that Russian adaptation remains a significant threat. Developing local drone strike capabilities is identified as a critical priority to prevent a strategic setback.
