Hamilton triumphs in Barcelona: First Ferrari victory
Lewis Hamilton has secured his first Formula 1 victory in nearly two years, delivering a dominant performance at the Barcelona Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion, now driving for Ferrari, claimed the win after a tactical masterclass in Spain.
Hamilton started from second place behind Mercedes driver George Russell. He capitalized on an attrition-heavy race, marked by multiple retirements and a precise pit-stop strategy from Scuderia Ferrari. The Briton took the lead in lap 42 of 66 and maintained his position until the checkered flag.
George Russell completed the podium in second place, with McLaren’s Lando Norris finishing third.
The victory reignited Hamilton’s championship aspirations. He currently sits second in the general standings, 41 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes. The season continues with the 8th round in Austria on June 28.
