Moldova steps up EU integration focus with new Parliament strategy

The Standing Bureau of Moldova's Parliament approved a new institutional communication strategy on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
The document defines the framework for public interaction and institutional transparency over the next four years, spanning 2026 through 2029. The complete strategy is available for public consultation on the official parliamentary platform.
Core strategic objectives
According to an official statement, the strategy aims to boost institutional transparency, guarantee public access to information, and foster a deeper understanding of the legislative process.
To optimize public outreach, the leadership established four priority pillars:
Active transparency and clear, accessible communication.
Communication regarding the EU integration process and newly adopted laws.
Civil engagement through participatory civic education.
Strengthening institutional communication capacities to counter disinformation.
Digital modernization and external support
The strategy shifts focus toward modernizing digital channels and creating accessible explanatory content. It expands civic education programs for youth and intensifies structural dialogue with the diaspora, academia, civil society, and the media.
Officials emphasized that the document strictly governs the institutional communication of the Parliament. It does not replace or interfere with the political communication of individual lawmakers or parliamentary factions.
Independent communication audits and periodic reports will monitor the implementation. This structure allows the institution to adjust its actions based on shifting information dynamics and public needs.
International development projects funded by the European Union, Germany, and Switzerland supported the formulation of this strategy.
