Village of Vorniceni, a development model with EU-funded renovations

The village of Vorniceni, located in the Straseni district, is emerging as a model of development due to projects funded by European grants. The investments are significantly transforming local life, with initiatives including energy-efficient kindergartens, modern roads, and the restoration of a unique 17th-century historical monument.
At Kindergarten No. 2, the roof has been repaired, the facade renovated, and the institution has been equipped with energy-efficient solutions.
"This is a tremendous benefit for both teachers and children. The heat is now maintained inside the institution; the facade has a beautiful aesthetic and is pleasing to the eye. Our expenses for electricity and heating have been significantly reduced, by around 20 percent," stated the director of the kindergarten, Ana Miron.
The kindergarten is preparing to open a nursery group for children aged between one and three, and the 15 applications submitted demonstrate that these services are needed in the community.
"As parents, we are very satisfied with the conditions in the kindergarten. I also attended this kindergarten, and a lot has changed in recent years."
"The conditions are excellent, the educators are extraordinary, and we really enjoy it here. It’s warm, the food is very good, and I have peace of mind knowing that everything is fine and that the children are well cared for."
"We appreciate that the kindergarten provides decent conditions. It is comfortable, warm, and clean, with all the necessary amenities for productive work."
Additionally, investments have been made in road repairs. For example, Constantin Balaur str. is currently undergoing extensive repairs, which include the construction of a new bridge.

"We waited a long time for this road to be built because it was quite challenging to navigate, especially during rainy weather. Driving was particularly difficult at those times.
The condition of the road was extraordinarily poor, and now we are pleased that it has been constructed in our village. I own two cars and pay taxes to the state, which I believe should benefit us in return.
Times are changing, and we hope to reach the same level as European countries, where the roads are well-maintained and provide access for everyone.
Additionally, an investment of five million lei helped save the wooden Church of "Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel," which was built in 1685 and was at risk of collapse."

"We have completely restored 70% of the building. The restoration includes the wooden structure, clay filling, plaster, roof, and the stone foundation, along with the patron icon of the church," stated Jan Tartacuța, the project manager.
"The dream of many residents in the village of Vorniceni, who wanted to see this church standing, has finally come true. We have given our church a second life, which is a symbol for us. Although we have many monasteries, this one remains special, like a flower."
Some of the projects financed with European funds include the dance hall at the House of Culture, the expanded aqueduct, and the thermally insulated City Hall building.
