“DescOperă” Festival closes in Butuceni with classical music in nature
Classical music beautifully blended with the stunning landscapes of Butuceni during the final evening of the anniversary edition of the "DescOperă" Open-Air Classical Music Festival. The audience was captivated by the atmosphere created by the waltzes of the Strauss dynasty, performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of the "Teleradio-Moldova" Company and conducted by academician Gheorghe Mustea.
The festival moved the opera from traditional halls into nature, within the unique space of the "Orheiul Vechi" Reservation.
"Here, people from all backgrounds come together through music, as music has the power to unite us. It is the most sought-after art form in the world, the one that provokes thought, and the art that embodies peace," stated composer and conductor Gheorghe Mustea.
The Răileanu couple has been attending the festival since its first edition. Over the years, they say that each festival has had its own unique charm, and they return not only for the art but also for the relaxing atmosphere.
“There was one occasion, I don’t remember which year, when the concert began, and a flock of birds danced a waltz in time with the music. It was extraordinary. It's living music, real music that blends beautifully with nature.”

The first edition of the "DescOperă" Festival took place in 2016. The idea originated from Austrian conductor Friedrich Pfeiffer, who, impressed by the beauty of the Butuceni area, discovered acoustics suitable for a true open-air classical music experience.
