Denis Shtilerman, head of the private weapons manufacturer Fire Point, released video footage showing the launch of five Flamingo missiles.
"Volgograd welcomes the seasonal migration of flamingos from Ukraine," Shtilerman posted on the social media platform X, adding that more strikes would follow.
Local residents reported hearing loud explosions at approximately 4:00 AM local time. Video footage circulating online shows a missile striking an unidentified target, followed by a large explosion.
While local authorities have not officially confirmed the attack, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) had previously issued an emergency closure of the Volgograd airport.
Shtilerman also shared reports from the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, which stated that the strike directly hit the strategic Titan-Barikady defense plant.
According to Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, the facility operates under the state corporation Roscosmos. The plant specializes in producing heavy artillery and ballistic equipment.
The factory manufactures critical systems for the Russian military, including self-propelled launchers for Iskander-M tactical missiles and Topol-M intercontinental ballistic complexes.
