336 families upgraded household appliances through the EcoVoucher Program

More than 336 families in the Republic of Moldova have replaced their old household appliances with energy-efficient models, thanks to a recent EcoVoucher Program session held from June 12 to 28. Funded by the European Union, this program provides vouchers worth 6,000 lei, covering up to 70% of the cost of new equipment.
According to the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), in the current session, 244 beneficiaries are families with minor children, 56 are pensioners, and 36 are individuals with severe disabilities.
These beneficiaries purchased a total of 173 refrigerators and 163 washing machines. All purchased appliances meet energy efficiency criteria and comply with European standards. Beneficiaries selected refrigerators from energy classes A, B, C, and D, as well as washing machines from class A.
CNED officials state that all program beneficiaries are identified based on eligibility criteria and data registered on the compensatii.gov.md platform. Additionally, the program promotes the recycling of old appliances, contributing to the responsible management of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
The Ecovoucher program was developed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with support from the European Union. This edition of the Appliance Voucher Program is being implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy as part of the project "Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies for Moldova" (E4M), which is funded by the European Union.
The E4M project is being implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Moldova. It is funded by the Government of Germany and co-financed by the European Union, Norway, and Denmark.
