Romanian Universities Fair in Chișinău: Students explore study opportunities
Lyceum graduates from the Republic of Moldova had the opportunity to explore educational options at the Universities Fair held today in Chisinau. The event featured representatives from 18 university centers in Romania. Young individuals gathered information about various study programs, available scholarships, admission requirements, and opportunities for academic and professional development.

The “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași offers candidates a total of 547 places with budget scholarships, 75 places without scholarships, and 186 places available for a fee this year. The university comprises 15 faculties, and students receive support throughout their studies.
Maria Ignat, an associate professor at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, states, “The scholarship is 920 lei, provided by the Romanian state, which is very beneficial. Additionally, students placed in budgeted positions, whether receiving a scholarship or not, are granted free accommodation in dormitories.”

The "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu provides students with free accommodation and the chance to receive scholarships of approximately 3,500 lei. In addition to the Erasmus program, students can also take advantage of short-term international mobility opportunities through the university alliance to which the institution belongs. The duration of studies ranges from 3 to 4 years, depending on the chosen faculty.
"We are in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, which offers a three-year program. One of the benefits is that if you apply for a limited number of scholarship places and are accepted in your first year, you will receive the scholarship for the entire duration of your studies. Admission is based on the Baccalaureate average, and the available places are limited by specialty and faculty. For example, we might have six places available in International Relations and European Studies, while there may be fewer in Medicine," explains Ernest Covașniuc, a student at "Lucian Blaga" University, Sibiu.

Future students express a desire to study in Romania because of the quality of its education system and the professional development opportunities it offers.
“I discovered some programs that I didn’t even know existed, such as those at the Technical University of Iași. I really like the courses, especially the focus on chemistry and biology.”
“I am looking for a faculty that specializes in computer science. There are plenty of options, including one in Craiova.”
“In Constanța, the economics program offers free dormitories and a stable scholarship for three years, which is quite appealing. I want to leave the country, explore new opportunities, and possibly return to help modernize my home country.”

The Universities Fair is an educational project organized annually by the Federation of Basarabian Youth in Romania. It will continue until July 5.
