Parliament illuminated in the colors of the American Flag to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence
On the evening of July 3, the Parliament building in Chișinău was illuminated in the colors of the American flag. The symbolic gesture marked the 250th anniversary of the proclamation of the United States' independence.
On this occasion, the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, extended his congratulations to the American people, highlighting the strong partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States.
"Step by step, we have built roads, modernized schools and kindergartens, expanded access to water and sanitation, and made important progress in strengthening our energy independence and democratic institutions. For the Republic of Moldova, the United States is a trusted friend that stands by us when we need it most. Thank you for your steadfast support and for the trust you have placed in the Republic of Moldova. Happy Independence Day to the American people!" Igor Grosu said.
On July 4, 1776, the United States of America adopted the Declaration of Independence, the document that laid the foundation for the American nation.
For more than three decades, the Republic of Moldova and the United States have built a strategic bilateral partnership based on consistent cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
