Ukraine mourns: Kyiv attack death toll rises to 19

Today, July 7, marks a day of mourning in Ukraine following a massive Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of July 6, which resulted in numerous civilian casualties. Rescue teams are still searching through the rubble, and authorities warn that the death toll could continue to rise.

The death toll from the Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 19, as emergency services rescued three more individuals from the rubble overnight.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing, with concerns that more people may still be trapped.

On the night of July 6, the Russian military launched a coordinated attack on Ukraine using missiles and attack drones. The most significant damage occurred in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and the city of Vyshneve.

In the Ukrainian capital, the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts were particularly hard hit. Preliminary reports indicate that approximately ten individuals may be trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building in the Podilskyi district.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybikha reported that an entire family perished in the ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. In honor of the victims, authorities declared July 7 a day of mourning in the capital. Flags were flown at half-mast, and all entertainment events were canceled.

Following last night's Russian attacks, an industrial site in the Poltava region was struck, igniting fires in multiple locations. Despite experiencing repeated assaults, firefighters successfully extinguished all fires, and authorities reported no casualties.
