Energocom reserves gas capacity for winter

Energocom started preparations for the next heating season. The company took part in the annual auction for gas transmission capacity at the Ungheni interconnection point, securing the logistics needed to supply Moldova between October 1, 2026, and September 30, 2027.

Booking transmission capacity allows suppliers to plan gas deliveries more efficiently and secure lower transportation costs.

During an auction held by the transmission system operators, 57,436 MWh of daily capacity was offered for the Ungheni interconnection point, from Transgaz's network to Vestmoldtransgaz's network. Active suppliers booked about 41.37 percent of the available capacity.

A separate auction offered 58,436 MWh of daily capacity for the Ungheni entry point into Moldova. Suppliers reserved 38.57 percent of the available capacity.

Gas transmission capacity is allocated through auctions, allowing companies to secure pipeline access for future deliveries.

Long-term bookings, such as annual capacity reservations, generally offer lower costs than short-term reservations.

Energocom said it monitors regional natural gas prices every day and adjusts its decisions based on market conditions and its procurement strategy.
