First Moldova–India economic forum held in Chișinău

A delegation of Indian businessmen will be visiting Chisinau, led by President Droupadi Murmu. Economic representatives from the Republic of Moldova are invited to participate in the Moldova-India Business Forum, scheduled for July 20.
The Investment Agency reports that an upcoming event will establish a framework for direct dialogue between Moldova's and India's business communities, fostering trade and investment opportunities between the two nations.
The Indian delegation will comprise approximately 40 business representatives from various sectors, including infrastructure and construction, manufacturing, information technology, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and agri-food processing.
The Investment Agency emphasizes India’s status as one of the world's largest economies and highlights its significant potential for developing economic relations with the Republic of Moldova.
Trade data indicate considerable opportunity to advance bilateral economic relations. In 2025, Moldova's direct exports to India amounted to approximately $259.4 thousand. These exports were primarily composed of machinery and mechanical appliances (about 44%), followed by edible fruits, particularly apples (around 21%), optical and medical instruments (approximately 18%), and pharmaceutical products (about 16%).
Business professionals from the Republic of Moldova are invited to register by July 17 for the Moldova-India Business Forum. This event will provide them with an opportunity to establish new partnerships, identify potential export and investment markets, and engage directly with representatives from Indian authorities and the business sector.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova exported goods worth over $1.45 million to India in 2025 while importing products valued at over $73.9 million from the country.
