Moldova's head of diplomacy Nicu Popescu will host the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Wopke Hoekstra, in Chisinau, announces the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI)
The MFAEI says that the high official is expected in Chisinau on 19 April for a working visit.
Wopke Hoekstra will hold talks with his Moldovan counterpart, after which the two ministers will hold a press conference.
In February 2022, Moldova was visited for the first time by a Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In Chisinau, Prime Minister Mark Rutte gave assurances that his country will support Moldova in justice reform, the fight against corruption and economic development.
The Republic of Moldova established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of the Netherlands in July 1992. The two countries have concluded 21 bilateral treaties and agreements, covering areas such as mutual promotion and protection of investments; international road transport; readmission; avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands provides assistance to Moldova through the Programme for Economic Cooperation with Developing Markets (PSOM).
The Republic of Moldova benefits from the CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries) programmes, which include technical assistance, expertise, organisation of exhibitions of domestic production in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
