The European Parliament's Committee on Budgets has given its opinion on €145 million in assistance to Moldova
The European Parliament's Committee on Budgets voted last night by 35 votes in favour, 0 abstentions and 1 vote against my proposal for an opinion on €145 million macro-financial assistance to the Republic of Moldova. The announcement was made by MEP Siegfried Mureșan.
He said he had asked the members of the Committee on Budgets to endorse the assistance decision as proposed by the European Commission and not to table any amendments.
He also asked the Committee on International Trade - the committee deciding on this project - to vote on the Commission's proposal without amendments.
Siegfried Mureșan said that after yesterday's opinion of the European Parliament's Committee on Budgets, the International Trade Committee will vote on the assistance on 27 April and the final vote in the European Parliament plenary will take place in May.
In January, the European Commission decided to increase Moldova's macro-financial assistance by €145 million to help the country cover part of its additional financing needs, ensure macro-economic stability and implement further reforms.
