Outdoor advertising market reaches 95 million lei, led by Chișinău, Ungheni and Drochia

The outdoor advertising market in the Republic of Moldova is valued at approximately 95 million lei and is primarily concentrated in the cities of Chisinau, Ungheni, and Drochia. On a national scale, authorized street billboards cover a total area of 33,164 square meters, which is enough space to fit at least four standard football stadiums.

In Chisinau, there are 626 advertising devices known as city lights installed at 313 waiting stations.

Additionally, the city features 201 advertising panels, 177 wall banners, 136 city lights placed outside waiting stations, 54 consoles, and another 54 types of advertising panels. This information is based on the 2025 Report on the Competition Council's activities.

Chisinau boasts the largest total advertising display area, at approximately 11,265 square meters. This is roughly equivalent to the area of 225 two-room apartments. This statistic underscores the capital's significance as the country's primary economic and commercial hub, as well as its role as a central point for outdoor advertising investments.

The suburbs with the largest street advertising areas are: Stăuceni (468 square meters), Budești (217 square meters), Cricova (119 square meters), Băcioi (114 square meters), and Bubuieci (112 square meters).

These figures illustrate the growth of outdoor advertising activities in the suburbs and the economic and commercial development of these areas near the capital.

Outside of Chisinau, the largest authorized display areas were recorded in Ungheni with 1,964 square meters, Drochia with 1,957 square meters, Cahul with 1,872 square meters, Comrat with 1,536 square meters, Bălți with 1,340 square meters, Soroca with 1,059 square meters, and Ialoveni with 1,046 square meters.

The report highlights that traditional display panels are being increasingly replaced by digital DOOH (Digital Out-of-Home) panels, as advances in LED screens and the integration of outdoor campaigns with digital tools continue to evolve.
