Ministry of Education and Caritas to modernize sanitary facilities in four schools

The health facilities in four general education institutions will undergo rehabilitation with a total investment of approximately four million lei. This funding is part of a partnership between the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) and the Moldovan branch of Caritas Czech Republic.

The projects involve modernizing sewage facilities, constructing accessible toilets for individuals with disabilities, and implementing other measures to enhance conditions for both students and teachers. The total investment for each of the four educational institutions is approximately one million lei.

These initiatives are part of the project titled “Improving Water and Sanitation Conditions in Rural Schools in Moldova,” which aims to upgrade the water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure in 25 educational institutions across the country.

The beneficiaries of the project are as follows: Gymnasium No. 68 located in the village of Dobrogea, Sângera; the "Alexei Mateevici" Theoretical Lyceum in Căinari, Căușeni district; the "Alexandr Pușkin" Gymnasium in Cimișlia; and the Răciula Gymnasium in Călărași district.

In total, these four institutions serve over 1,200 students and teachers.

The Ministry of Education and Research has announced a partnership with Caritas to enhance learning conditions in schools across the Republic of Moldova. This initiative includes investments in infrastructure and hygiene education activities for students, teachers, parents, local public authorities, and communities.
