EBRD-backed project to repair 38 km of the Leușeni–Chișinău–Dubăsari national road

A section of the national road Leușeni-Chișinău-Dubăsari will be repaired. The National Road Administration (AND) has announced the initiation of the procurement procedure for rehabilitation works on a 37.8-kilometer section.

The rehabilitation of this road sector is a strategically important project, as stated by AND. It aims to enhance accessibility, improve traffic conditions, and increase road safety for both local residents and all road users in the region.

The project includes the construction of a new cement concrete road surface, earthworks, retaining walls, drainage systems, and the construction and rehabilitation of bridges and footbridges. Additionally, measures will be implemented to enhance road safety.

Plans also feature the development of two, three, or four traffic lanes, three roundabouts, sidewalks, and passenger stations.

The contract is divided into two lots. The first lot covers a road segment of 8.2 km in the areas of Leușeni, Cotul Morii, and Sărăteni. The second lot involves a 29.6 km section near the localities of Onești, Costești, Bujor, Chetroșeni, Mirești, Mârzoaia, Cristești, and Iurceni.

The planned duration of the project is two and a half years, and it is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The National Roads Administration invites experienced construction companies to participate in the procurement process by submitting bids. Detailed requirements can be found in the tender documents available on the EBRD’s electronic procurement platform: EBRD Procurement Platform.

The deadline for submitting bids is September 30, 2026.
