Moldova fuel prices hit new high as diesel surges

Fuel prices in Moldova are set to increase again starting Friday, July 17. Drivers will face higher costs for both petrol and diesel, marking the sharpest single-day rise for diesel this month.

Petrol will reach 28.72 MDL (€1.47, approx. 28.72 MDL) per liter, an increase of 0.19 MDL. Diesel will see a steeper jump of 0.45 MDL, rising to 27.56 MDL per liter.

The increase follows several consecutive price hikes since early July, when diesel stood at 24.41 MDL and petrol at 27.43 MDL.

According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), the trend is driven by international oil market fluctuations linked to Middle East tensions, alongside foreign exchange rate shifts.
