CNAM covers 118 million lei in June e-prescription costs
In June, over 170 thousand individuals benefited from reimbursed medicines and medical devices prescribed through the automated information system "ePrescription". During this period, contracted pharmacies received approximately 118 million lei for the dispensed products.
The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) reported that the amount transferred to pharmacies has increased by over 13 million lei compared to the same period last year.
In total, over 110 million lei were paid for reimbursed medicines, with the average cost per beneficiary for these medicines and medical devices amounting to 689 lei.
The largest portion of the funds, approximately 54 million lei, was designated for the treatment of circulatory system diseases, benefiting around 126,000 patients.
Additionally, nearly 40 million lei were allocated for medications to treat endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic diseases, benefiting over 76,000 individuals.
In June, the most expensive compensated treatment was for epidermolysis bullosa, with the average cost per patient exceeding 1,221 lei.
Furthermore, more than 17,000 people received compensated medical devices, for which CNAM allocated over 7 million lei.
Any doctor, including those working in emergency units, as well as doctors providing community or palliative care at home, can issue electronic prescriptions.
According to the CNAM, "Compensated medicines and medical devices can be picked up from pharmacies by presenting an identity card, without the need for a paper prescription. Additionally, the electronic prescription can be used for one or more visits to the pharmacy, depending on the beneficiary's needs."
