Three villages in Iarova benefit from "European Village" investments
Three villages within the Iarova commune in Soroca district have undergone modernization thanks to funds from the state budget through the "European Village" program. These infrastructure investments have significantly improved residents' lives, including street lighting, upgraded medical services, and the rehabilitation of a water source.
Infrastructure investments are transforming the lives of the residents of Iarova commune. The street lighting network has been modernized over a distance of approximately 17 kilometers, with nearly 300 lighting fixtures installed.
This project, which cost over one million lei, was implemented with support from the first edition of the "European Village" Program.
"I think a lot has changed, especially in the rural area where I come from. They have already installed street lighting, and we are proud of this project. Additionally, the spring in the village of Balinți was renovated. Access to clean water is a priority," says Lilia Bruma, a resident of Iarova.
Another project in the village of Balinți involved the cleaning and renovation of a spring and basin that have been in place for over three decades. The water was tested in a laboratory, and authorities have confirmed that it is safe for both consumption and household needs, as well as for small farmers.
"The sum of 400,000 lei was allocated for the renovation and capital repair of this spring. It serves 230 residents of the Balinți commune, providing them with tap water directly from the spring. Additionally, around 50 to 60 businesses come to collect water from the pipe, and some even bring tankers from other localities," stated Ion Chiriac, the mayor of Iarova.
Furthermore, the Family Physicians' Office in Iarova has also been renovated, with an allocation of 800,000 lei. This facility serves over 600 residents, who no longer need to travel to other locations for medical consultations.
"The conditions here are beautiful and excellent, much like those in Europe. Everything is exceptionally clean, and the entire building is heated during the winter. The service is outstanding," said resident Maria Cripinciuc.
For residents, each completed project signifies improved safety, enhanced services, and a renewed sense of confidence in the future of the commune.
"Return villagers, to the hearth, to the holy land, for only at home is there heaven on earth."
Investments in the commune of Iarova will continue with the renovation of Grădiniței Street, a project selected under the "Europe is Near" program.
Additionally, there is an initiative to enhance the Vinogradski Family Mansion and develop the adjacent park, for which a grant of 2.7 million lei has been secured.
