Energy bill payments now available through MIA

Customers of the largest electricity supplier in the Republic of Moldova can now pay their bills using a new digital method, specifically through the MIA instant payment service, which is available directly on the website of Premier Energy SRL.

A new payment option was launched to simplify the transaction process, providing consumers with a modern, fast, and secure solution accessible from both computers and mobile phones.

“To make an online payment, the consumer visits the specified page, follows the on-screen instructions, verifies the payment data, and confirms the transaction using the method available within the MIA service,” explains Premier Energy.

The supplier, which serves over 855,000 households in the Republic of Moldova, also notes that bills can still be paid via internet or mobile banking, as well as through electronic platforms like Paynet, RunPay, or BPay. Additionally, payments can be made at terminals located in stores and shopping centers.

The MIA Instant Payments system, launched by the National Bank of Moldova in March 2024, enables rapid money transfers between bank accounts within seconds directly from mobile applications using only a phone number.

Currently, nearly one million people use this service. In 2025 alone, approximately 15 million transactions were processed, totalling over 13.2 billion lei.

The system has progressively expanded from person-to-person (P2P) transfers to include business payments, public service payments (P2G), and instant transfers between companies.

One of the significant advantages of this system is that there are no fees for transfers up to 10,000 lei per month, and payments are processed immediately, regardless of the bank used. For transfers exceeding this amount, small commissions apply, not exceeding 5 lei per transfer, regardless of the financial institutions involved.
