Prime Minister will present new fiscal policy next week
The new fiscal-budgetary policy will be presented by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan next week. It is anticipated that both the Government and the parliamentary majority will support this policy to avoid the internal conflicts that emerged during the Munteanu Government. While the new Prime Minister will implement some changes, the core concept of the policy will remain unchanged.
The statements belong to the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, and were made during the program "La 360 de grade" on Radio Moldova.
"Mr. Tofan is a very energetic person, with many ideas, who injected a dose of optimism into the government team and has a mobilizing spirit for all those involved. It was an absolutely necessary thing for us during this period", the minister described his impressions after a week of work with the new Prime Minister.
Dan Perciun also added that the most important topics are being intensively discussed within the new Cabinet to ensure they align with public policies and are successfully implemented.
"This is of great value and I believe it is a lesson learned from previous experiences. There are more and more issues that need to be clarified in the coming period, such as budgetary and fiscal policy and wage policy. There are also some momentary crises to overcome. It is not an easy start for any team, but I believe that Mr. Tofan's energy and his willingness to delve into the details, to consult the decisions and to discuss them internally will make this Government 100% functional", declared Dan Perciun.
According to the minister, Vasile Tofan will present the concept of the new budgetary-fiscal policy next week, so that by August 6 it will be presented in a revised and updated form and will also be firmly supported by colleagues from the parliamentary majority.
"*We expect that the project will then appear in the public space for further consultations and discussions. I am absolutely certain that the things that are wanted to be done, after internal and external discussions, will move forward. The Prime Minister is the leader of the team and must have a very strong say in decision-making, but this does not mean that internal discussions do not take place to calibrate certain initiatives", mentioned Dan Perciun.
The new fiscal budgetary policy outlines specific actions to tackle various challenges in both the short and long term. The government is committed to addressing the bureaucratic obstacles faced by local businesses attempting to build factories, purchase land, or continue their operations.
“The Government's commitment is clear: there will be targeted interventions, improved communication with the business community, and personal involvement from the Government wherever investments are stalled due to bureaucracy,” explained the minister.
In the medium and long term, additional measures will be introduced and announced next week by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
“Of course, there will be adjustments compared to the previous version. Once presented by the Government, it will be fully supported by everyone, including our colleagues in Parliament, as is only natural,” concluded Dan Perciun.
The government led by Vasile Tofan, elected by Parliament on July 21, was officially sworn in on Wednesday, July 22, taking the oath of office at the Presidency.
Among the initial objectives of the new government team are reducing "hidden salaries," combating wasteful spending of public funds, enforcing controls on entrepreneurs, and implementing tax reform.
