Admission 2026 opens with more than 10,000 applications on day one
More than 10,000 young people submitted their applications for admission to higher education on the first day of registration at universities in the Republic of Moldova. According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), there are three days remaining in the admission period.
A total of 10,124 applications for bachelor's, master's, and integrated studies were submitted through the platform eadmitere.gov.md.
Candidates may submit applications to a maximum of three universities and select up to three study programs for each institution, in order of preference.
Online registration requires an electronic signature. Candidates who do not have an electronic signature can obtain one at any Orange or Moldcell branch by presenting their identity card. Alternatively, they can seek assistance from the University Admissions Committees, as stated by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC).
Interested individuals can get additional information about the admission process by calling the Call Center at 0 8000 5005, which operates every day.
Admission to higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova began on Monday, July 27, and applications can be submitted both online and in person until August 1.
This year, universities in the Republic of Moldova have made 9,013 places available for competition, funded from the budget for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs.
A new feature for the 2026-2027 academic year is the increase of at least 40% in scholarships for undergraduate students, regardless of their specialty, starting September 1.
The first results of the admission competition will be announced on August 8. For any remaining vacant places, an additional admission stage will be organized in the second half of August.
Last year, over 23,000 students were admitted to universities in the Republic of Moldova, with most of them (17,346) enrolling in bachelor's programs. Among those admitted were 1,113 international students from 24 different countries.
The most popular specialties were in the fields of economics, law, health, and engineering.
