Moldova declares Shor-linked "Eurasia" organization extremist
The "Eurasia" organization, linked to the convicted criminal Ilan Shor, was declared an extremist group in the Republic of Moldova. This decision was announced on July 28 by the Central Court of Appeal, following the court's approval of a request submitted by the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS).
Following a recent decision, the organization "Eurasia" has been included in the Register of Extremist Organizations. The Information and Security Service (SIS) warns that individuals who collaborate with "Eurasia" or contribute to its funding may face criminal liability under the Criminal Code concerning the management of extremist organizations and the dissemination of extremist materials.
"The Service recommends that all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, including those living abroad, refrain from any form of collaboration or involvement with the 'Eurasia' organization. This includes terminating any employment relationships or other forms of cooperation with it, avoiding participation in events organized by or associated with the organization, and not distributing or promoting materials produced or disseminated by it", SIS reported.
We remind you that the judicial process to recognize the Russian association "Eurasia" as extremist began in the summer of last year. At that time, SIS did not publicly announce its appeal to the court, but the organization was referenced in secret service reports concerning interference in the electoral processes in the Republic of Moldova in 2024.
Under the guise of a humanitarian organization, "Eurasia" provided training to several young people in electoral technologies, including destabilization techniques. Some of these individuals were selected for training as provocateurs at protests, with camps held in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The "Eurasia" organization was founded in April 2024 in Moscow by Nelli Parutenco, a former accountant for Shor. Both the organization and its founder have been placed on the European Union's sanctions list for actions aimed at destabilizing the Republic of Moldova and engaging in pro-Kremlin propaganda.
