Moldovans invested, and the Government paid 60 million lei in interest over two years
Moldovans have invested more than 1.3 billion lei in state securities (SMS) using the eVMS.md platform. During this time, citizens have earned 60 million lei in interest from the state, as announced by Ion Gumene, State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
Since the launch of the eVMS.md government securities investment platform two years ago, more than 8,500 active users and nearly 3,800 unique investors have conducted over 16,000 transactions, totaling more than 1.3 billion lei.
The age range of investors is impressive, with the youngest being just 18 years old and the oldest 84.
The eVMS.md platform allows citizens to invest directly and entirely online in government securities, providing a simple, secure, and accessible process. As of April 2025, government securities issues have transitioned from quarterly sessions to monthly offerings.
Starting in April 2026, each session will feature government bonds with maturities ranging from one to four years. Additionally, beginning in May 2026, a continuous subscription mechanism will be introduced, offering investors greater flexibility.
"We are not stopping here. The Ministry of Finance is committed to further developing the platform, and we will introduce new investment options through eVMS.md. eVMS is a straightforward and secure platform for investing and putting savings to work, easily accessible on both phones and computers," stated Ion Gumene.
