Cahul invests over 43 million lei to modernize public lighting

Cahul municipality has, for the first time, implemented a modern public lighting system that now covers the entire area. This follows the completion and official inauguration of the largest street lighting project, which was financed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL).

An investment exceeding 43 million lei has enabled the modernization of the lighting infrastructure, enhancing safety and energy efficiency for approximately 40,000 residents.

The Regional Development Agency (ADR) Sud announced the official inauguration of the project titled "Completion of the public street lighting system across the Cahul municipality." This project is regarded as "the largest investment in public street lighting financed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL)."

In the project, 95.15 kilometres of public lighting networks were upgraded, 758 pylons were installed, and 2,882 LED lighting fixtures were added.

The total investment value is 43.28 million lei, with 36.32 million coming from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development and 6.96 million lei contributed by the Cahul City Hall.
