Igor Grosu attends the Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of EU countries. Russia's war against Ukraine on the agenda

The heads of the EU Member States' legislatures meet in Prague (Czech Republic) to discuss Russia's war against Ukraine and the EU's response in the geopolitical context. For the first time, the Republic of Moldova will be represented at this forum as a candidate country. Parliament's President Igor Grosu will take part in discussions on the priorities and challenges facing the candidate countries.

Over two days, the presidents of the EU parliaments, the president of the European Parliament and the presidents of the parliaments of the candidate countries will discuss topical common issues.

The first day will see an exchange of views on Russia's war against Ukraine and the EU's response to this geopolitical context.

The second session will focus on discussions on the role of the EU in the cooperation of democracies, the consequences of information warfare, protection from disinformation, security issues.

At the end of the two days of debates, the final declaration of the conference will be adopted.

A meeting of the presidents of the parliaments of EU candidate countries will also take place during the Prague conference, with the participation of the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu. The priorities and challenges facing EU candidate countries will be discussed.

In Prague, the President of Parliament is planning to meet his counterparts from various countries, as well as Moldovan citizens living, studying or working in the Czech Republic.

The Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of the European Union provides a forum for discussion, exchange of views, information and experience on the role and responsibilities of national parliaments in the European structure, as well as instruments for inter-parliamentary cooperation in the field of European affairs. The meeting is attended by the Presidents of the Parliaments of the EU Member States, the President of the European Parliament and the Presidents of the Parliaments of the candidate countries.
