Heavy exit traffic at Leuseni border prompts rerouting advisory
Heavy outbound traffic involving both passengers and vehicles was reported on Saturday morning at the Leușeni–Albița border crossing on the border between Moldova and Romania.
Moldovan authorities confirmed that exit lanes leaving the country are currently congested due to a surge in travel volume.
Response measures
Teams from the Border Police and the Customs Service are operating at maximum capacity to expedite border control procedures and minimize wait times for travelers.
Authorities recommend that drivers and passengers consider alternative border checkpoints based on their planned routes to reduce delays.
Alternative routes
Travelers are advised to choose the Leova–Bumbăta or Cahul–Oancea border crossing points where possible.
Meanwhile, traffic flow at the Sculeni border crossing has normalized and operations are proceeding under standard conditions. Border authorities stated they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as traffic conditions evolve.
