Maia Sandu invites young readers to share their summer reading and visit the Presidency

Children who are passionate about reading will have the opportunity to share their experiences directly with the head of state. President Maia Sandu will welcome the most active young readers to the Presidency in early September to discuss the books that have impressed them and the stories that have touched their hearts.
The head of state reminded children about the challenge she initiated at the start of summer, encouraging them to set aside their phones and tablets occasionally and read a book.
"As summer comes to an end, I am eager to learn where your books have taken you over the past few months. What have you read? Which character resonated with you the most? Which story made you laugh, dream, or discover something new?" Maia Sandu asked in a message posted on social media.
Children are invited to send the president a message at [email protected].
"Please include your name, age, and location, how many books you read this summer, and, most importantly, what impressed you the most. I look forward to your messages," said Maia Sandu.
For the most passionate readers, the adventure will continue after the summer vacation.
"At the beginning of September, we will meet with the most avid readers at the Presidency to discuss the books and stories that accompanied us during this vacation," the president announced.
On International Children's Day, celebrated on June 1, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, sent a message to children emphasizing the importance of reading and the benefits that books can offer during summer vacation.
The President wished all children a vacation filled with adventures and wonderful memories, encouraging them to spend more time away from screens.
"Books can become your best friends this summer. They help you dream, travel through time and space, and discover new things. By taking a break from screens, you give your eyes and mind a rest, and each page you read will enrich you with thoughts, ideas, and courage," said Maia Sandu.
Additionally, the President announced a summer reading challenge, inviting children to participate in a reading competition. She encouraged them to read as many books as possible by the end of August and to share their reading experiences with her.
