Nicu Popescu: At the EaP meeting, the opportunities for the modernization of the defence and security sector will be addressed

The future of the Eastern Partnership (EaP), the challenges and consequences generated by the war in Ukraine will be discussed at the meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs within the EaP, which will take place at Brussels on 12 December. The announcement was made by the head of the Moldovan diplomacy, Nicu Popescu, on Telegram.

"The ministerial meeting chaired by the high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, will be attended by the ministers of foreign affairs from the EU member states and their counterparts from the PaE countries," said Nicu Popescu.

Within the program, the Moldovan Foreign Minister will have meetings with Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Stefano Sannino, Secretary General of the European External Action Service, as well as with other high-level officials from the European Union.

"Discussions during the visit will focus on the future of the Eastern Partnership, security challenges and the consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine for the entire region. I will also discuss with interlocutors the opportunities for the modernization of the defence and security sector", emphasised the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu.
