Ana Revenco on Russia's decision to ban her from entering its territory: Officials from states that oppose pressure and blackmail are put on the list

"These are diplomatic measures that have become almost normal on this front of the hybrid war that Russia is waging against our country," says Interior Minister Ana Revenco, reacting to Moscow's decision to ban several Moldovan officials from entering the territory of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the minister said she had no plans to go to Russia.

"In the context of the announcement by the Russian embassy in Chisinau regarding the list of Moldovan officials banned from entering the Russian Federation, I would like to make the following clarifications: for 31 years, Russia has been constantly aggressing the Republic of Moldova. It continually blackmails us, abuses our citizens and manipulates them. It is destroying our economy and impoverishing our country. These are the diplomatic measures that have become almost normal on this front of the hybrid war that Russia is waging against our country. To give weight to their decisions, they list as persona non grata officials of states that oppose pressure and blackmail. I did not and do not intend to go to the Russian Federation," Ana Revenco wrote on social media.

According to Russian media, the list of officials on whom this restriction has been imposed includes MPs Oazu Nantoi, Olesea Stamate and Lilian Carp. The First Secretary of the Consular Section of the Moldovan Embassy in Russia, Valeriu Manea, has also been declared persona non grata.

The decisions taken today in Moscow were communicated to the Moldovan Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Lilian Darii. They would be Russia's response after the authorities in Chisinau banned the Tatarstan leader from entering Moldova and expelled an employee of the Russian Embassy.

Foreign and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu described Moscow's decisions as "a continuation of the hostile actions that the Russian Federation has been taking over time towards the Republic of Moldova".
