Jens Stoltenberg: "The war in Ukraine could reach Europe and turn into a war between NATO and Russia"
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has expressed concern that the fighting in Ukraine could get out of hand and it could turn into a war between Russia and NATO, reports Digi.24 with reference to The Guardian.

"It is a terrible war in Ukraine. It is also a war that can become a full-fledged war that can escalate into a major war between NATO and Russia. We are working on it every day to avoid such a situation", assured the general secretary of the Alliance.
"The world has advanced in recent decades. NATO is now the strongest version in recent years. And last but not least, there is Putin who underestimated our ability to defend and protect each other. As long as we do this, we are safe," said Jens Stoltenberg.
In comments reflecting rising tensions between Russia and the West, Vladimir Putin suggested Moscow might consider using what he described as the US concept of a pre-emptive strike, Sky News notes.
